1986 GMC Astro rebuild...questions

I ain't that freaking old. my old worn out trucks at least had a buzzer.

 

I drove an older KW that had a black parking brake button, I think it did the same thing as a blue one. Also, every truck back then had a "SignalStat 900 Sigflare". And you had to put a folded matchbook under the turn signal lever, because the 4 way lever rattled.

Heck the truck I'm driving has basically the same turn signal.

 

And dimmer switch on the floor, haven't seen that in a while.

 

Thankfully my current truck has that built in to the turn signal. One less hole to drill in the new hard wood floors.

 

Us old timers used to say, after the dimmer switch was moved to the turn signal, if someone had their brights on, it was because they couldn't get their foot up to the turn signal.

You are not the only one with sentiments.

Old Iron never die I say. I had a full life with them. Most of them anyhow.

Most younguns riding on a cloud and wisper quiet trucks now don't understand but that is ok. Life means change and generations mean they are our future.

 

I may delete the floor dimmer on my 900 and get a modern signal switch. The wig-wag stays though
