Thanks for the info. Is that 0000 the part number or replace it with the 7293 thats on the original turbo? Also, would this more than likely cure poor bottom end power and a lot or black smoke?

0000 is the end of the part number for the borg warner.
1496 988 0000 is the P/N. the 1496 988 0001 unit is a little lazy on 14.6 litres and is better suited to 15.2 ACERT or 15.8 litres.
it will help with bottom end power, however the can also be fuel related. black smoke indicates lack of air. perhaps caused by tired turbo, boost leaks, boost sensor or atmospheric sensor. this assumes no hack resistor wires are fitted.
the borg warner 0000 turbo makes about 8-10psi more than the cat one at 550hp. it reduces exhaust back pressure on the engine and reduces pyros bt 80-100 deg C -
Thank you. Ill look into it. Do you know a good source for one?
-
not for inside the US.
google search your local borg warner dealer -
Another question: Whats the difference between wastegated and non wastegated? Is there a benefit of one over the other?
-
waste gate spools much faster ... but has to vent off pressure to not over spin the compressor wheel. Non waste gated move more volume at given PSI, will usually boost higher, and will have lower EGT's.
sirrepairsalot Thanks this. -
Thank you sir
