Available as mechanical or with PEEC electronics. A half breed with an ecm mounted on a mechanical fuel pump. Very unpopular. Only lasted a couple years. 95 or 96 C was replaced by 435E model. I had a 92 425 peec. It was good but fuel pump/ecm was a flop.In 1998 cost $2000 to rebuild. Last Cat I owned!! Cat was about 5 yrs behind Detroit on elactronics.Funny part is Detroit hired an engineer from Cat and Stole their technology, Cat eventually won a lawsuit for stealing Corporate secrets in 90s. If that Truck is as good as it looks and also the last mechanical C model Cat it’s worth the $30k. A very desirable Truck when made. As most didn’t want anything to do with electronics. Kinda like emmisions today nobody liked the new stuff.Old Mechanical Cat could be tweaked to run easily out pulling a 500 detroit.Thats also the last sleeper before Condo style. Rumor was back then the design was influenced by Werner Enterprises for Team operations. Urban legend Probably. But these were the first double bunk Conventionals. Replacing the Cabovers in most Fleets
1994 Freightliner with 700,000 fpr $30k, is this a good buy?
