Hi I have the same truck but it is a 1995 with the same problem so I have been following this thread. Could you also help me out with that download and possibly the schematic of the cable you are building. I will try to build one myself. Also do I need to buy a scanner? I am pretty sure I can get an old laptop. I appreciate the help you give people - very awesome.

It appears I have a mechanical dash cluster with a bad PCB board. I have checked and double checked power in and I loose it between plugs or it is drastically reduced. Plug A pin 6 is the engine shut down and according to the book it should close to a ground if the fuel shut off circuit is active . Ignition on I have 4 volts on it.

Hey aron12 I was having the same problem where if I used ether it would start. Do yourself a favor and pull off the valve cover. First make sure jack-brake has solid connection on wires. Them using a meter check and see if your injectors are shorted together. You might find 1&2&3 injectors and 4&5&6 are shorted together. If you do you probably will find the conduit for the wires is full of oil and if there are any openings in the wire insulation they will short. I re-ran those wires so they set on top of the injectors so they wouldn't set in the oil. Then I fixed wire insulation and re-taped loom and the sprayed them all with liquid electrical tape to seal. Anyway after that it started right up. you also have to make sure you have a good charge on your batteries. Unfortunately I still have a problem where even after I replaced tps switch there is no throttle response. I think I may have an ecm problem. Supposedly the owner of this truck had computer checked put I dont think you can check the computer off the truck. Does anyone know if that is the case?
