That would be correct. Now I could be wrong. But I thought they stopped using them about 1996.

I can imagine some are still on the road. But I'm surprised everytime.

The round shafts when warn can be rotated 180⁰ and reused, regardless what the bottom wear looks

On the round ones always make sure the plug with detroit diesel emblem pointed out.

I didn't realize it was 2000. I really thought it was earlier.

    You
You were pretty close. I didn’t know they had a new style till reading this thread. I had them put a reman set on my last Trucks inframe in 2008, they were $2300 exchange. I bet they’re $5000 now. My current Trucks rockers have over 2.4 mil miles on them. I think Detroit manual says they’re not serviceable. Seems I read on here once that new bearings can be pressed in. I had read about flipping the bars over, guess that can’t be done with mine, being the old style. Will be taking the head off mine soon, hopefully. Mechanic at work says he’ll do the labor for $1000. Even willing to take payments of $100 week Considering I paid $1700 labor in 2004, on my last Truck. Sounds like a great deal. No idea if it’s just a blown gasket, cracked head, or a bad liner. Head cost me $2200 at Stoops in 2020. Now they want $3600. Brand new Aftermarket HHP with claimed improved cooling design is less than $3000. Im hesitant to start tearing it apart myself. I might not get it put back together till spring. The suspense is killing me though Local work is slow, the pays not great. Trucks been parked for 11 months now. $150 mo. for parking. Need to get it running and either work it, or sell it. Either way, gotta do something.

Ya my friend owning that wrecking yard saved my ###. When I asked him how much he said "You're the only person that's come for Detroit parts in years, maybe in another 7-10 years I'll get around to just scrapping that stuff, if I remember too." I got a cam, both new style rocker assemblies, replacement bolts. The price was "We'll work out a price when you get your truck back on the road and get some money coming in." I can't beat that price and a good friend he is.

I'm sure I've seen the new style, but didn't remember them when I unboxed the new ones. I think it was about 3100$ when I bought all my parts summer of 22.

You can roll your old style shafts with no issues.

    Rideandrepair and Koulbreeze Thank this.

It definitely has been slow. That I understand.
