    Need a bit more info.

Cut out, like engine shuts down or the whole trucks electrical system goes down and then taking the engine out with it?

    Any codes?

I'd start by checking every ground wire and positve and making sure the studs are snug on battery. Follow that to starter and check both ground and positive nuts are also torqued.

You can also check your ecm wires. They are smaller wires with a fuse in it, somewhere on your battery box. Make sure they are not corroded.

Had a freightliner about the same year set it on fast idle moved the small wire's close to the batterys it would do it just a bad connection to the computer, cleaned up the plugs and tied the wire's so they wouldn't move never did again.

A bad starter will cause this. It will ground out on the inside of the casing and cause the motor to lose electrical power for a split second.
