Got the truck back yesterday turns out one of the mechanics got careless lowering the head down and put a nasty Gouge on the gasket they continued to put it all back together and starter leaking as soon as they fired it up so they had to tear it all back down to replace a simple gasket

So after running the truck a few days she seems really good not rebuilt good but smoother one thing that really surprised me was my Temps! Enough of a surprise that I had to call and ask them about it. It used to run average I'd say coolant and oil ran about dead center of the gauge now water runs around 160 occasionally on a pull it hits 175/180 and oil around 170ish and 200 on a good pull. Shop said he used 'actual" 12.7L thermostats not the 180s typically used in the 14L guess cooler is better right? I was also a religious Lucas oil additive user and they strongly suggested keeping that out of my engine any thoughts on that topic?

I sell Lucas but tell people not to use it. If they are dead set on using it I may as well make a few bucks on it. Not sure about the thermostats. Detroit 12.7 thermostats are generally 190 degrees and 14 liter are 185 degrees. It is possible that they blew out the radiator when doing the work and that may have helped.

Recent update. After they changed gear over front main and upper seal kit I'm now getting oil leaking from my exhaust flex pipe and wetness around turbo exhaust side nothing on exhaust manifold or wear it connects to the turbo but they did do those gaskets also and no signs of oil on the cold side. I've spoke with them and they said to bring it back so they can check it over unfortunately I'm running a long load in the opposite direction so I thought in the mean time I could ask to see if anyone had a thought on this?
