So... I need to run the light continuously, banner front of the truck and back of the trailer, 6 flags on the load....
And wait for the permits lol

Do I need to put flags on the mirrors for a load that is just long?
Really not feeling inspired to do my first long load. I normally work with a pretty high alert level anyway... This is like actual stress...

You never need to put flags on the mirrors. That looks very dumb and screams “I’m a rookie” to me.

Next thing with oversize is everything is state dependent. Depending on the state you might not even need a permit. That’s a legal load in Georgia and with not rear overhang it’s legal in Arkansas as well.

Before anyone can give you advice we need to know what states you’re running in.

    OLDSKOOLERnWV and TripleSix Thank this.

And I have about 6ft overhang on the back. 53' trailer and the pipe is 60'
Fits inside the width ok, with 2 sets of pipe stakes chained per shippers directions

Read your permits and they will tell you what marking (flags you will need.
Why is that a stressful load, just a regular load with a small bit of overhang?

Your truck must be pretty short if you’re only going to overhang the front a foot. My opinion, the more you can go over the front the better.

Life sucks with a short truck. lol
My T800 I can only overhang a foot, max and stay out of the headache rack, my w 9, I could run it all up front. lol
I have hauled a lot of 86 foot pipe on dollys, and if we stay under a certain length we only needed 1 pilot car, and only for half the trip at that. I could do it, but always left it right to where it was over by a few inches, them pilot drivers needed to make a living too. lol

I dunno. It's a cheap mega style International. I think I might have heard about wheel base etc but I paid 0 attention. You can blame it on being a girl lol.

Not that the load is especially difficult. Just you don't know what you don't know. So new is stressful. Wasn't as different driving it as I thought it might be.
