Can someone please explain if this something that goes on your DAC or is it a SWIFT company thing?? I received my 1st Service Failure today for being late on a delivery for a Sears warehouse in South Jersey this mornin due to a big traffic jam on I-95 S in Chester, PA. I feel ashamed this is the first time i 've been ever late on a delivery, sent in a Mac 22 & told my DM about the situation but he wasn't tryin to hear that. I 'm just wondering because i'm truly want to prevent this from happening ever again...

No service failure rarely get seen by outside entities. What your DM and your mac 22 should show that it was unpreventable due to traffic. When I did work for swift my DM went to bat for me and 2 weeks later the service failure was dismissed. If your DM isn't helping go to the Terminal manager when you get to you terminal and ask for their help or call your terminal and ask for the terminal manager if you think your DM isn't going to helpful.
My best advise is from now on try to be at the shipper or receiver 1 hour before the appointment time. If you think you might be late send the 22 ASAP.RookieJ1987 Thanks this. -
If you are late with with a load because of traffic how the hell is it a service failure because it's not your fault and you can't go around the traffic sometimes, why you didn't call them to explain the situation sometimes you can't count on macro this and that just get to your phone and call them how about you send the qualcomm message and they see it a couple hours later they can use that as a reason to cover their butt or ask them to put some blue and red light on your truck like an emergency vehicle because you gonna have to use the shoulder to pass everybody if you don't want another service failure lol.

You can't be responsible for traffic - I would just be sure to communicate the delay as soon as you know about it. Worst case, they would use the service failure as an excuse to fire you later on, though that would seem extreme if it's an isolated thing. It won't go on your DAC and nobody outside Swift will know about it. Like others said, don't worry about it. Just do the best you can.

If your late once in a while not in a habit fashion it no big deal it when ur late all the time when it becomes a issue

I've always tried to be an hour early, more so if it is a place I havent been before. However if I know I an going to be late I will always call the shipper/reciever and let them know. They will usualy ask how late I will be. Most always they seem to understand. Many of the places I called wouldnt have let me dock if I didnt call ahead. I'm not late much (maybe 1 out of 12) but it happens. I've been late because a reciever has held me up. Not my fault so I call ahead.

Interstate 95 is NOTORIOUS for being backed up and clogged up due to accidents, construction, and SERIOUS RUSH HOUR traffic jams.
