So I recently was cited for a traffic violation going 12 mph over the posted speed limit in a construction zone with workers present. This is my first violation in over 3 years. The problem is that I just received my CDL in February and this will have a huge impact on future employment.

The ticket happened in Alabama heading east on I20. At mile marker 209, there was a sign for construction zone next 2 miles. The officer clocked me at mile marker 211 while I was gaining speed on a hill. I was pulled over just before mile marker 212.

Not sure how I should proceed with this. Should I see legal consultation?

    Regards,

    Gonfishin

Get an attorney - don't blow this off. Speeding in a construction zone is a major deal when it comes to employment.

You are pretty much screwed. Speeding in a construction zone always brings on double the cost of the fine, maybe even points as well. A lawyer will not be able to get this reduced, as construction zones are very dangerous to begin with, where many people die each year.

Why should he delete any information, to "save face" from the opinions he will get??

It's an admission of guilt and although unlikely, there are some people on the intrawebnet who enjoy screwing over perfect strangers. With little investigation you could find out which court covers this area and forward a copy of this thread.

edit.. nm he never admitted guilt.

    off topic
on another forum I frequent we had a member intentionally post pr0n in a thread without a nws warning, he then waited for this guy he disliked to show up in the "viewing thread" list. Then he called this guys IT department and notified them that this certain employee was looking at pr0n while on duty. Total setup but it didn't change the fact that this guy was looking at pr0n while on duty, even though it was an "accident".... he lost his nice state job.

So I contacted Kreps Law Firm in Alabama. They were able to get the charges dismissed as long as I completed an on-line driving school class. All in all it cost me less than $600. Best money I've ever spent.
