Yeah, I mean I did a ton of work to this. I studded it, I put brand new Oring heads on it. did a new oil cooler, did the oil pump upgrade, new starter, new alternator..rebuilt the complete front end as well as brakes all the way around. Only real worries had had was maybe the turbo at some point and the injectors but I even resealed the injectors. Not to mention I put a new engine wiring harness, new glow plugs and harness and new fuel injector harness. Did everything I could do to try and cut off any potential issues and still not enough.. 8(

I remember you have done your preparation well. I used to pay a guy $20 to do paperwork while I was on the road to save time and headache. Sometimes at truckstop was challenging. Doing at motel was easer. You was talking about sleeping in your truck. I took out passenger seat and the backseat and installed a twin bed running front to back my crewcab has a lot of room when I removed the seats.

Yeah, this trip was a bit rough getting paper work sorted on the road. Having issues trying to figure out a 1 stop set up to take pictures of BOLs, sign rate cons and do broker packages. I can't find anything that jumps from Android to windows with ease, it's all a lot of little steps like convert this image to PDF, sign it on this app.. ect..ect.. I think I'm going to buy a surface pro because I used to have one when I traveled before and it would work very well for this stuff I think..

As far as sleeping in the truck, yeah this run was a bit rough, I removed the rear seat built a little platform and used a air mattress temporally. The air mattress sucks, so the 1st night I was out I got on Amazon and ordered a foam mattress.. lol
Being this truck was meant to just be a temp stop gap it's not going to be the best set up inside, I 100% plan to add a sleeper to my permanent truck. That's actually already in the work so far as acquiring a sleeper. I've found a few that will work, just have to decide which one I want to go get it once my truck is running, but that was something I planed to get this time home so I have it ready for the next truck.

Week might have been rough but you will probably still be better off with the older truck - especially since you are able to do the repairs yourself.

I’m 2 weeks in with my own numbers and my dispatcher has found me one load. I’m based Houston. Every day she says she’s working on it. She seems determined but what if that just isn’t enough. I’m just sitting waiting. Any thoughts?

Do you have load board? Look for yourself it doesn’t matter who loads you, you are paying her to help you. How long has she been in business? You are looking at the long game, the longer you stay in the more successful you become. The more you learn. Then one day you have the confidence and experience. Keep learning every day. It can be scary in the beginning.
