I made a deal with my family. I would text them an "all is well City, State" daily if they NEVER, EVER called me about ANYTHING they see on the news ESPECIALLY WEATHER. Some worried family members make no distinction between a snowstorm in Seattle and the driver being in Key West, FL. ANYTHING you see on TV is a huge exaggeration and often several days old.
Maybe your loved one has a cellphone plan that limits texts, or minutes or data. Work out some mutual plan on communication. If his phone is broken, he is certainly using his trainer's phone for something. A text is a reasonable request.
MOST drivers find the period they spend riding with their trainer at the first company to be about the hardest period in trucking. It may be hard to sleep in a moving truck, you have no space for your stuff. No control over your schedule. May have to eat and use the bathroom on someone else's schedule, plus learn an alien job.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
