They are tight lanes and mirror smackers if you are a rookie. You have to have good lane control. But if you are coming and going from the Sikeston, MO area to KY/ vise versa it's about the only way. On the KY side there is a blind almost 90* curve at the beginning/end depending which way you are going. I would announce my presence on the CB as two trucks don't want to meet there. Also on the KY side is the DOT set up in a small trailer on the north side of the road not far from that curve. If they are open both directions have to stop. They are usually 8am-5pm.
If you like that bridge there is another one like it up in WI/IA line across the Mississippi we can send you to.TruckDuo, 8thnote, 70s_driver and 1 other person Thank this. -
I was across those bridges last month, and it was fine.

The narrowest bridge across the Mississippi River into IA is the US 52 and state 64 bridge at Sabula. East end of that one is in IL.
The one at Lansing, IA on WI 82 shows the bridge itself as truck route on the Iowa map but lists the causeway to the east of it, in WI, as restricted.
IA 9 ends at the foot of the bridge and WI 82 starts according to the signage, that one isn't quite as narrow as the one at Sabula, I have been across both of them with a truck a time or 3.8thnote, CondoCruiser and albert l Thank this. -
I believe you're referring to the bridges on US 60 between Paducah, KY and Sikeston, MO. I just went thru there 2 weeks ago and they are open and have no restrictions that I'm aware of. But, like CondoCruiser said, they are VERY narrow. If you pass another truck, you're literally going to have about 6 inches of clearance between your mirror and theirs. Absolutely no room for error.

If anybody sees a mirror from a Peterbilt with a Wilson antennae laying on the ground would you be kind enough to stop and pick it up? I"ll pay the postage to have it mailed to my house in Bugtussell.
CondoCruiser Thanks this.
