My ex boyfriend got a ticket for putting his wrench on the brakes. He didn't have certification of any kind.
And, with long travel (3") slack adjusters, all you have to do is step hard on the brake for about ten seconds while you're stopped, applying at least 90 pounds and they will automatically adjust. If they don't, there's more going on than simple adjustment. Of course, there's always the possibility that the tow truck driver who hauled that rig into the shop last time manually backed the brakes off and then didn't tighten them back up.

A long time ago an old mechanic told me "a real driver doesn't need brakes".
So drive like you don't have brakes and you'll do fine.

I cant count how many trailers I've picked up that I had to re-adjust the brakes myself before leaving the lot. -
my question is how did you find out they were out of adjustment at the shipper?
