You guys crack me up. What good is a free truck gonna do for ya? What ya need is free truck and free diesel. But we really better be able to keep our mechanic if we like our mechanic.
$2 per mile for a full load is a new norm?

In theory wouldn’t a car dealer just be able to tell the car to go to such and such address in the future when everything is autonomous ..

I am new to the industry. We are auto transport brokers. Now before you hang me from a tree please keep reading.
I have been quoting market rates. I firmly believe in paying the carrier what they are worth. We charge a flat fee for our services. If a customer is on a budget, we try to find open truck space to help them. Sadly these low ballers are taking all the business. I wwish there was a way to identify these unethical brokers and flag them on central or something. Central is part of the problem. We should be forced to provide the cars VIN number to prevent duplicate postings. I was a little naive to what kind of reputation brokers have. I really want to make this business work and bring some integrity back to the industry. I want to keep carriers loaded and make people’s experience less stressful. Am I naive to think I can network with carriers and discuss what they need per mile so I can avoid using central dispatch? Are we going to keep losing business to slime balls? I know it’s nearly impossible to tell carriers not to accept a ####ty rate but how else do we stop them. I’d love for some real world education from you guys on what you need a mile to make it worth it to take the load. Hell maybe I should be dispatching. I just know it’s frustrating to be honest and THAT is what is costing us. Any advice guys? -
Good news GM is moving most of it's production vehicles to China soon. Except the $100k pickups.

It all depends on what’s in the load. We haul full loads 7-9 vehicles in curb weight around 33k-36k most of the time. If your load is 5 pickup trucks, it would make no sense to haul it for less than what one would get for a full load. Just because you have 5 and not 9 units. We can’t fit more cars to fill the difference. I would say anything above 3.30 per mile on a full load long distance (over 550 miles) is ok. But it has to go somewhere where there is a chance to get another load out. If it goes somewhere where there are no cars within 100 miles radius, it would make no sense to get paid 3.30 per mile and then go empty. There are so many factors to consider that explaining it all in here is hard. I deal with some brokers who call/text me before a load gets to central, but even they sometimes can’t pay what they know is a normal rate for that load.
For Coast to Coast full load 1 pick 1 drop As for me, I think over 9k is a good priceTheRealLargeMarge Thanks this. -
And probably only dually, which means i can load 1.
