Looks as if you're just going to suffer until you upgrade to CDL-A.

I think it's just a bad time for CDL B jobs right now. Before I had my CDL I swore I saw more CDL B jobs openings in the summer

Probably was more before you acquired a CDL-B.
This could last several months or even years.
CDL-A reefer drivers have no worries about that though. Plenty of high quality work year round.

You can make real good money driving for KLLM and can upgrade in Burns Harbor, Indiana.

    KLLM owns FFE.
FFE also trains for CDL-A at the same school in Burns Harbor, Indiana.
The school is free and transportation, meals, lodging is provided.
By free, I mean, it's free if you agree to work for either company 12 months after graduation. Pretty good deal.
After graduation for FFE, the nearest terminal is in Chicago area.

For your area in Indiana, the CDL-B is no better than a Class-C to drive a car.
Maybe you're fortunate and have the resources to wait out the recession, but most new drivers need decent paychecks now and can't wait.
Either way, the ball is in your court.
