That was what I originally planned till he said those magic words "$500 deposit" I had a business phone account with them before and it came up, so he told me that they would likely drop the deposit it I used the business ...erm options options... Now, looking back, $500 might not of been that bad.

I knew it would be fun when all the reps had dumb looks on their faces when I sat the mobley on the counter. None had ever set one up before, sadly, they still haven't.

My rep has set up 4 already. He knew exactly what to do.

credit check, no 2nd stage verification, no deposit, first bill will be about $50...30 days from now. Mobley active even before I left the parking lot.

@flatbeb mac ...1st bill will include $25 activation fee, then $20 thereafter (plus the "regular" junk fees totalling $25/month)

Today I logged on the 'net with my desktop, and AT&T showed to have the ZTE Mobley in stock. So I ordered the device for $108.24 (including tax). Also, signed up for the no contract unlimited data plan for $20 per month plus tax.

Edit: $45 activation fee added to first bill.
Edit #2. There is Zero activation fee, if you buy the device outright. Hopefully, I got it right this time. I like that.

I scanned the fine print and it said I may get slowed down at 22 gigs. Shoot, I'll be happy to get 22 gigs.

The whole process looked pretty stand up and straight forward.

My ZTE Mobley should be shipping in about 3 to 4 days. Thanks to everyone who helped on this thread.

Yep, looks to be back in stock, also people have had no problems going over 22 GB, I personally have sailed right over that threshold without any issue so far. But apparently if the cell tower is overloaded with traffic you can be slowed down.

Yeah, I can't wait to get mine. I'm going to downgrade my no contract phone plan to $40 per month and it will pretty much be a wash as far as costs go. I cut the cord with the cable company a while back, so I have been needing something like this.

I ordered one as well, the one I have has never gotten connected. I've been through two accounts and five plans with the same device and still no dice. I had a heck of a time ordering one actually, couldn't get through it without a genius claiming thy could fix my current account to make it work. I actually have one heck of a story to tell and I will when time permits. I switched it to a different plan last night only for some one to change it back...

    If someone would be so kind to log into their at&t account and look at their plan and tell me if it is the same as this;
    Overview Landing Page.png

    it would be much appreciated.

When I was struggling to purchase the mobley on line last night a chap told me I was on the wrong plan. So I switched it to the 1gb vehicle connect plan for $20 and after doing so I could see the unlimited car connect and it specifically stated vehicle on the plan where as the one I have now does not.

I bought the mobley twice online and each time they canceled the order saying that they couldn't verify my identity with what I supplied, seeing that they already had a $213 hold on my account I thought I would talk to someone before continuing to dig a hole. After ordering I was directed to call the ecom dept to verify my identity. Well the # given to me to was computerized order tracking ...no human option. So I called the only number I knew the car dept. I told him I knew this was wrong dept. and told him the deal and I need to verify who I was. ...of course another genius! Oh I can fix your current account... In the end he switched my plan after telling him not to. And 25 minutes after he realized that his efforts where a fail he switched me over to order tracking computerized voice that I was just calling him to avoid. He even promised me that I wouldn't be speaking to a computer that there where only hoomans dar....

When I purchased the device and plan, I got this:
    ATTCONTRACT.JPG

When I logged on to my account, I saw this:

    att2.JPG

It may help someone later, to set up my account they kept asking me for my wireless number. I typed in my phone number. That's the wrong number.

ATT assigns the ZTE Mobley a "phone number" Use that number. You will see that number in the order confirmation email if you look closely. That took me about 30 minutes to figure out.
