Okay so I hope this is in the right form. but I have a question about a 2000 Freightliner mt45 i have. it has a 5.9 24 valve Cummins turbo diesel. I have contacted both Freightliner and Cummins about the situation and they are both pointing the finger to the other company. so my problem is when it gets cold out I turn my key on in my Freightliner and on the left Dash the battery and brake light kick on but none of the right side lights come on which are check engine, wait to start, stop enginen, Etc. if I just get in my truck cold turn the key on and the check engine stop engine and wait to start engine light aint on the engine will just crank and no start. If I turn the key to the on position wait about 20 minutes turn the key off turn it back on all the lights will then kick on I then hear a whine which I know is the lift pump the truck will start. this has been going on for over a year now and I have been just dealing with it. but it seems like it is getting worse and worse and worse. somebody out there please tell me the you ran into this problem before and know what the fix is because I also have a 98 Freightliner mt35 and it just recently started doing the same thing. so I can't see this not being a common issue. thank you in advance and any advice would help greatly.

It will not be the cummins fault. It kind of sounds like you may have a switch issue.

Replaced the ignition switch with no luck. Thinking it's a solenoid or something. Guess I'm the only one that has ever had this problem. And now on 2 trucks.
