I actually found that add on truckpaper and looks like a great truck. I'm wondering. Would it be possible to get a used 1999 valve cover to put on the engine??
Yes sir you'd like to see my engine?

If you can avoid running in California ,
I’d definitely get a truck made before the DEF and all the emission garbage were required .Rideandrepair and Soon2BeOwnerOperator Thank this. -
Apparently you don't need proof of engine year/paperwork on your truck though as long as you have it in case you get audited.
That's why I was thinking putting an old looking valve cover may be close enough to a 99...
I talked to the guy who is selling the orange one with the factory detroit reman. Sounds legit. He is in the hospital with a heart problem unfortunately and that's why he's selling the truck. When he did the reman he also did a new clutch, radiator, pitsburg tune, water pump, air compressor, ac compressor and the apu works along with apu ac unit; its a diesel apu. He also said his 30 day avg. wad usually 6.5mpg pulling a dryvan. I am debating going to see it unfortunately the only close airport is 600$ for a one way ticket. I figure when I'm there so far from home will be hard to negotiate but he dropped it a whopping 500$. I just worry about trying to find a flatbed trailer with a little under 20k cash left over. I suppose I could go run for Atlas (they mandate eld :/) as a power only unit save up a little more and get some experience to be hired onto as a flatbed under ats or something like that instead of getting my own mc right off the bat.
What do you think of this truck thats Similar but no APU and a little cheaper. Haven't talked to them yet but says 150k miles on an overhaul. They are asking 52k I think which would give me plenty for a used trailer. I could always buy an apu on a 0% cc and pay off within a year. This one is the single bunk not the double. But you can still stand up in this style Coronado correct?

Just realized the dealer selling that truck also has another truck I have seen that's sparked my interest. I wonder how much flights are to Alabama

Mid roof would be better for flatbed work. The Condos are really just a waste of space inside. Unless you’re real tall you can still stand up in a mid roof.

I think you have to be careful even when they’ve been overhauled already. The parts used on the engines may not have been the best to begin with. Maybe just replaced. They used a lot of different blocks. Even some industrial generator engines. Stuff that wasn’t originally made for a Truck. No telling and no way to tell. Unless tore apart. Fitzgeralds known for that. They use their own serial #’s. Always a bad review from every mechanic I’ve talked to. Detroit Dealership by me doesn’t like working on them. Say it’s a big hassle and no telling what parts they have. My friend decided to change his oil pan gasket, found the thrust washer laying in the pan. 650k miles. Just fell out. To rebuild it properly it needs to be out of framed, line bored, new crank. Custom built, because the part numbers don’t match and Dealers can’t do anything without a part #s and serial #s. Even with the #s they don’t add up. It’s a mess no one wants to deal with.
