As to the OP's first post. Pulling down the headliner was not that big of a deal ( putting it back up may end up being a pain though ). There are a few screws in the headliner where it is screwed into the roof supports. The rest are around the edges and you'll need to unbutton the pass though to the sleeper to get at the ones that are hidden by the pass though covering. Mine was already water damaged and buckled so it came out fairly easily. I'm reinforcing the area where the lights mount with lite plywood and intend to reinstall. Will try and remember to upload a photo of it back in.

Good deal, currently in the middle of that right now. Right side windshield is leaking at bottom left.

First of all I wish you good luck with your truck.

With that being said the quote that is above says it all. Many people like yourself purchase the Peterbilt because they think it's the best built truck out there, and if they would have known, they probably would have thought twice.

And then the rain comes and you find out your headliner is going to be destroyed and your circuit breakers are going to be shorted out and you're going to have crazy electrical problems that no truck should have let alone "the best truck ever made".

Search the forums for the common problems that those trucks have because there are quite a number of them.

Please do not misunderstand me. I genuinely wish you good luck and hope that whatever problems you encounter you can overcome them and keep rolling with a minimum of Time & Expense.

But if it were me, I would polish that truck up and make it shine, and I would feel genuine joy in my heart as I transfer the title over to the next guy.

Then I would get anything, anything... Anything that is NOT a Peterbilt.

    But that is me.

I sincerely wish you good luck.

Pete windshields are made to be installed with butyl tape and not silicone. Lots of lazy people install them with nothing which then leaks.

    Howdy @pushbroom,

The guy who replaced my windshields told me that if they were installed properly that it was nearly impossible to remove them without breaking them. When he worked on my truck he said all he had to do was push on my windshields and they pretty much fell out. All I know is however he did the job it’s been working great, NO leaks and I am still smiling when we go down the road. Currently in southern Arizona enjoying the sunshine we head back home in early April by then the weather will be almost livable.
