Have a little issue, replaced to good ol' Meritor electric shift 10 speed to an Eaton 13 speed. Now, as far as I know it supposed to be an easy swap, well, now lets get to the fun part.

This truck has an old N14 Cummins in it, at least what the shops have told me. The issue lies that the cruise does not work, fast idle does not work, nor the jake does not work. Speedometer works just fine. Called around for an ecu reflash to set the parameters to the for the new Eaton and took it to 3 shops. No one can do it. Say its too old don't have the proper stuff. Got to love it.

Now this is where it gets a little confusing. Took the truck to the dealer, they scanned it and told me there is a code in the ecu for it not seeing the electric shift signal, but I got told since the speedo works the cruise, jake, fast idle should be working. Upon that, got told by the technician the ecm is reading that the brake switch is always set. BINGO!!! Also, he mentioned that the parameters are set up properly and that everything looked fine besides that brake switch reading on all the time.

Replace the brake switch, nothing, check the clutch switch, works just fine and no corrosion or anything. Replace the cruise switch, nothing.

As you can tell, I am out of ideas. Any Ideas?

You have to check input/output parameters with Cummins Insite.

    Slovak Thanks this.

Ok, I don't have access to that. So far as I am aware, everything checked fine, even when the dealer scanned the ECU. Said all parameters are good. I will see if I can get that checked.

Did you old trans have any cruise control switches on the stick? Also you said you changed the service brake switch. Are you sure you changed the correct one? There is one for the brake lights and one for the cruise.

Have you tried removing the brake wire input at the oem ecm connector and then see if the high idle works? If it does then the input is grounded. You can confirm that by checking the wire you removed for a ground. This will also help confirm that you replaced the right switch. If you leave your test light on the brake switch input and it is grounded, unplug the switch you replaced. It should go out as long as the wire that runs to the input isn't already grounded.
If you post your engine serial # I can get you a schematic and tell you which wire is the brake input.
