I have a 2001 KW T2000 that has an ABS issue. The computer screen in the dash shows "TRKBRK Cntlr #1 ? Freq" and "TRKBRK Diag2Rly Short -V", but the ABS light doesn't come on. I hear a slight "blip" when I apply the brak. It's he same tone the turn signal and air pressure warning buzzer make. I noticed I hear that noise only when I have trailer connected and air pressure going to the trailer. I found the ground wire in the pigtail was lose and swapped the entire pigtail cable with a new one thinking that might solve the problem, but it did not. If I'm bobtailing I do not hear the "blip" when I apply the brakes. I briefly tried a non-ABS pigtail and didn't hear the "blip" when applying the brake with the trailer connected either. I thought it might also be an issue with my trailer, but I'm pulling a different trailer and it is till happening. I even had the codes cleared before I pulled this trailer, but they're back. Anyone have any ideas or know what the problem is?

You need to have to codes read by someone and use troubleshooting guide to diagnos. Is your abs bendix or wabco? Is there any numbers with codes a my be able to help if I had the codes.

There should be an ABS code retrieve button somewhere. On my friend's 2001 Pete 387 we found it behind a glove box. If you find one press for about one second and then watch your ABS light blinking a code.

I spoke with my local KW dealership and a mechanic there said there aren't flash codes for ABS systems. Is there or not? I'll have to check if it's Bendix or Wabco and get back to you.

I think T2000 and Pete387 share lots of things including wiring. My friend's truck is same year as yours and it has Wabco ABS. As I said there was a button behind the glove box. But I am not an expert by any means. Just wanted to help.

I believe it's a Wabco. You are right beltrans, I found an ABS blink code chart online. Now I just need to find the button.

I belive Wabco ABS-E (made in Wrozlaw, Pl), IMO, the best ABS unit.

first of all check voltage supply on ABS unit.

    ABS-E.jpg

This is basic wiring diagram of ABS-E. But in USA no K-L datalink is used, but J1708, but really this is minor difference.

For US market Wabco Tool box software is awailable. Difference of this software with European software is that it allows use non wabco diagnostic tool, so you can use it with any RP1210 adapter.

On modern trucks no ABS button is used, there is dashboard display that reads codes in MID 136 SID/PID format.
