I have a 2005 387 Peterbilt front axle assembly with springs Etc. I want to put that under my 1988 379. Has anyone done this? Is it pretty simple?

Break out the measuring tape. Axles the same make? Same drop? Spring length the same? Drag link mounting the same? Spring width the same?

Looking for someone who would know. I'm out on road. Trucks are not near one another.

No ones going to know. There are all kinds of front axles that can be speced when ordering a truck. Just because its pete to pete means nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Get your tape measure out and start measuring.

Pushbroom is right. Other things to take into consideration are GAWR. (Gross axle weight rating) castor, wheel camber. Ride height ( frame straight or slightly angled forward) etc.
You may also need to change your drag link and other steering components.
All in all easy if you know what your doing, but he'll if you don't.
