Hi Amedina,
I'm assuming it's a S 60 have you checked the fuel press and the CAC ? If that all good eliminate the EGR & VNT turbo. Take it to Montréal so the guys at Diesel can do the update.
You'll never believe it the same engine. No more 39 codes ever.
ISF -
ISF... can you share more details on Montreal? so thats to eliminate the Turbo? do you have the details of @Diesel?
Pablo- EGR was recently changed... never fixed the problem.. you think its clogged? -
are you sure EMC power supply is good. There were issues with bad junction near ECM (I say about DDEC-V) and fuses in battery box

Ok guys I realy need help to day 2003 freightliner columbia mbe 4000 driving down the road start blowing real black smock, then come to stop, and as i try to inspect what was going on with it, it shutt off itself with no warning no stop engine, no check engine, from there on she dont want start, so far i replace both tdc sensors, fuel pump, fuel filters, bleaded all the fuel nozles, checked the ecm fuses in the dash and back at the battery box, realy need help..oh when if i use either it will start but will not run..

Man, talk about using the shotgun approach to fix things.
Bite the bullet and take it to a certified detroit dealer. Have you mechanics checked the proper operation of the vpods? This is most likely the culprit. -
Blanco... excuse my ignorance... what are the Vpods? is this for Hardworkers message or Mine???
-
V pods controls the turbo VNT, also have them replace the V Pod harness
-
It is a non EGR Engine So Iam not sure it suppose to have V PODS
