Here is what the air modules look like. And a .pdf telling you how to take them apart. They can be difficult to remove. At least the truck I worked on was. Like I said this truck is used to spread lime and fertilizer. EVERYTHING on it is rusted/frozen in place. Then while working on it you have stuff falling on you.

There are one or two of these modules that might could be bad. The one on the far right or the one on the far left.

If you have j1587 wires going to the chassis module, dont forget to cut the two wires out. There is a service bulletin out there because the new chassis modules dont accept j1587.

check connectors at chassis harness module (CHM) mounted behind lh fender...look for side-loaded wiring pulled too tight when tied up at factory

the low air pressure switch is in the leftmost block in the drawing posted here...two red/white wires and two black ground wires...one r/w wire is for brake lights the other is for low air cant remember which is which..applying ground to each one you should operate stop lights or low air alarm ..these wires go to the same CHM that you replaced. if jumping wires to ground doesnt operate low air alarm u have an open circuit back to CHM. if it does work then u have a bad switch or no ground on a black wire...now that i think about it i believe stop light wire is marked 36 and low air 94...i think..its been a while.lol

Well, just got word that FINALLY our new module has arrived on base. Took way too long if you ask me. We'll get it mounted in and hooked up and then address the low air chime next. Thanks again for everyone who helped out with our issue.

Module is in. Just assuming the chime we hear is for low air. It only chimes with the park brake off, not when applied. We noticed today that the oil pressure guage reads nothing, but does go theough the ops check at start up. Hooked up a scan tool, and get a 'no engine'. Wonder how much their 'jump start' attempt fried. Troubleshooting continues...

Okay, after having to set this truck on the back burner to fix many more, it's time to get back into it. Like I stated earlier in May, the oil pressure gauge reads nothing, but does cycle test at key on. Wondering why we get a 'no engine' when she starts and will drive fine, but with the chime going off when the air brake is released. Any ideas? Gotta love Freightliner's multi-plexing electrical system.

The new chassis module most likely crashed the j1587 databus. Cut the orange and green twisted pair going to the chassis module. There is no need to have 1587 going back to the chassis module anymore

Correction: We have showing on the display "no eng" "no abs" and "no J1587". I called back to the Freightliner in the states, and they tell me the chassis module needs to be coded to our truck's VIN. The gentleman I spoke to in service says he believes that's why we're getting the issue we have. I would think if a module was ordered, that Freightliner would have asked for the VIN and not simply shipped one out. I'm trying to get with our supply reps to see if that happened or not. I will also try and cut the orange/green wires too.
