If you have a crank no start could be a number of things. D13 has a manual pump on the fuel filter base. Pump it. Try to start the engine. Of the idle is erratic might be leaking cups. If you still have copper do yourself a favor and update to the Conicals. Stainless cups. You can check for airby running the return located by the filterbase, into a bucket. Keep the end submerged and note bubbles. If you have bubbles you have a leaking cup. It will require replacement of all 6 cups and the leaking injector as well as a few orings and reser the overhead

One thing that's often overlooked is the EGR valve. If it's stuck open, it will basically choke the engine with exhaust and not allow it to start. Don't rule out an injector issue. We've had units with brand new conical kits installed that had issues right off the bat. Injectors are definitely the weak link on the 13L. I've personally seen about 3 trucks that had the EGR issue I spoke of. Pretty simple to check. Simply remove the 4 bolts holding the EGR crossover pipe to the intake elbow, and remove the clamp on the other end. Try starting it with that pipe removed and see what happens. It's not very common, the 13L EGR valves are solid, but they do fail occasionally.
QUALITYTRUCK Thanks this. -
Thanks for advice but if I use the manual pump and I make pressure in the fuel system the truck is start ride away. Could be the fuel pump or the injector cups??

The one thing often overlooked is the VGT. You can check to see if the gear is stuck in the turbo. It requires removing the actuator and will need to be calibrated prior to reinstallation. The truck will start and run with ether but will not start on its own. As for it throwing a code some do some don't. See it a lot at the shop. I wouldn't bother with checking the egr valve as that is probably the most bulletproof component on a D13. If you think you have a fueling issue pull the suction side line off the fuel pump and use a 5 gal bucket with diesel to feed the pump. Use clear hose to see if the pump is picking up. If you can pump it and it starts that really doesn't rule out anything yet. You can bypass the filter base by picking up from the bucket. There are 2 check valves in the fuel filter base and one on the front of the head. If by passing the filter base works then you still need to check air in the fuel. The route the fuel takes from the tanks is to the ecm cooler plate bottom. Out the top to the filter base primary filter to the pump to the secondary filter to the rear of the head. I am assuming you have pre 10 emissions. Just had an MP 7/D11 that the fuel actually flowed backwards. Had no fuel pressure could manual pump it and it would pickup and then pressure would come up.. Was the fuel pump.

Today the Volvo shop find the problem : 3 injectors were bad. They replaced all the injectors under warranty because I already changed the injectors 6 mouths ago. I don't know but the injectors at Volvo engine D13 are so bad .
-
I don't understand why they replaced only 3. Volvo policy requires dealers to replace an entire 6 pack when 3 injectors are condemned. If indeed they replaced only the 3 you need to get with the service manager and ask why the entire 6 pack was not replaced. Policy is Volvo corporate. PM me directly and I can supply the bulletin either Friday or Saturday. I am out of the office half day Friday but I will be back Saturday to catch up. I do work at a dealer. I am fully versed on warranty and I am a Volvo master tech. This is a warranty procedure that the Volvo dealer failed to follow. It will not extend your warranty beyong the original 1yr /unlimited miles from original purchase date. But it should have gotten you rid of a bad set that Volvo has had a problem with injectors for the last 6-8 months.

Pretty soon like everything else we'll be getting throw away engines

Hi Dave thanks for your massage. Yes Volvo find 3 bad injectors but they replaced all of them . I hope this time I will be more lucky .
