2007 deleted Maxxforce DT. Just rebuilt with new pistons, rods, mains, head, pucks, cam sensor, MIT, MAP, IPR, ICP, and 1 new injector. Start truck and runs perfect when cold. Heats up to about 170-180 degrees and begins to misfire and white smoke will come out so bad the fire department gets called (literally). Had another mechanic come over and hook computer up (not maxxservice) and the only code that comes up is not enough exhaust back pressure. Checked valves several times and they are to spec. Took turbo off to see if any change, nothing. Took exhaust manifold off to see what cylinder was smoking, all 6. The exhaust side of head where the new injector is located is soaked with fuel. Switched injector 1 and 2 to see if the new injector made the number 2 exhaust hole on head wet and it did. On one of these threads it stated injectors have to be reprogrammed when replaced. The delete was done before motor was rebuilt and truck ran fine until the #2 cylinder failed. Local International dealer will not answer any questions since it’s been deleted. Any ideas on what else to check?

When the head was off did you verify that the lifter retainers weren't broken, and the camshaft was not damaged?
Very comman failure, Navistar has an I know article to double the lifter retainer dog bones.

Yes, work had been done by previous owner. When tearing motor down found a broken dog bone in the oil pan. From what I’ve been told, there was originally only 1 dog bone and if work has been done there should be two dog bones. It has two on each set of lifters. Lifters visually looked good when they were out. Cam visually looked good as we manually turned engine over. The valve bridges all looked to be in good condition. Forgot to add that I replaced the rocker assembly as well.
