Mine question is what are the common problems with isx in 2007 Volvo. I know they have some cam wear is common in them but what else goes bad. I know there are some stories that the engine was taken apart 20 times and at dealer every week but that might be also related to people working on them. Mine question is how common for isx to need major work after 600,000 miles. What else goes bad that is expensive to fix?
2007 ISX with egr only, how reliable is the engine.

in 400,000 miles my 07 ISX went thru 3 turbos, 43,000 miles, 150,000 miles and 384,000 miles ,2 EGR valves and one EGR cooler,,Turbos cost $4500 plus labor and you have to have a shop with a computer to program the ECM when replacing the Turbo,,, One good thing about the 07 Cummins ISX was much better than the 07 CAT engines,,,,

DONT DO IT!!!! Pass on to the next option. If you are looking for a first truck, get a Century with a 12.7 Detroit. They are still around.

ANY and i mean ANY emission truck can put you outta business in weeks...Then again you may fluke into a good one...Are you willing to put 10's of thousands on the line to find out..Anythin with egr and def/acert after 2003 is a hit or miss...
run hotter, cost more,no one knows how to fix, weighs more and not reliable.. -
Not a first truck. I have regular truck now but looking to buy a car hauler. I'm limited to engine options.

05vnl670.....Unless you go to cali you have lots of options..Lets start with an old pre emmission trk..Totally refurbish it....gliders...
Dont get into undoing the egr bs cause shops i hear are now holding the trk till it meets the emissions standards of manufacture..
