He does have some validity. Always start with the software tune on ecm first. Install a non cat program then run if it still does it ur ecm could be off voltage but with no other symptoms it's unlikely. At that point total the truck lol. Make sure the tune u choose uses a standard diagnostic coding structure similar to cat.

I know this is old and i probably won’t get an answer. But will a new ecm fix this or only a tune. I’m not really knowledgeable about tunes and etc
