hey guys I was looking at a 2007 W900 with 900,000 on the dash and 180k on. Rebuild with paperwork truck has an 10 speed transmission. Truck almost needs nothing. What’s do you guys think a good price is for this truck. Again truck is in very clean shape has almost brand new tires around new front suspension etc.

Depending on condition, I see them advertised anywhere from low to upper $40's

you should throw out some more info. Like wb, gears, sleeper, engine type/size, etc... but that’s an older truck with a lot of miles, i would try to be under 40k.

Engine is done, how about the trans? The rears? You’ll probably be looking at bushings and new leaf springs too.

Trans will run you about 6k. That’s basically the same set up my Pete had when i bought it. 375/1650 3:70. I swapped the 10spd out for a 13spd, what a world difference. I get better fuel mileage and don’t feel like i’m killing the truck on hills anymore.

Just remember you can’t turn your power up unless you install a trans cooler. It’s a good set up tho.

Back on point, yeah somewhere south of 40k is where i would feel comfortable.

    Moephilly1 Thanks this.

How much did it cost you to swap 10 speed for 13? And yea south of 40k is the price for that truck. I never had a c15 acert before, I’m worried their not very good engines.

$30k-$40k used to be the going price for a Pete or Kw hood in that condition and age. Prices are crazy right now and people are asking double that. Feel sorry for the ones who are paying it. They wont know which end is up once the market corrects itself in another year or 2

    Badmon and Moephilly1 Thank this.

Its anyones guess, but freight rates and the truck market are crazy right now but sooner or later the cycle will turn and the wave will crash. My guess is within a year or 2 it will cool down again. Could be wrong, hopefully.

Yea your right I was looking at trucks in the early 2000’s they asking for high 40’s it’s ridiculous. I bought a 2001 Mack cx613 for 25,000 last year but it had a fresh rebuilt engine and new tires brakes and drums around and I still think I Paid too much for it.
