You should do the entire overhead set, do not just do the one injector.
Agree.

Had a guy doing a few injectors on this engine and didnt follow procedure. Pulled all the rockers, slapped em in and didint set the overhead. Valve bridge was off the stem and it knocked the keepers off and dropped a valve on the road test. Kablooie!!!!!!. Flip the rocker and adjust adjust the one or better yet adjust the whole thing as stated above. Your in there anyhow. Make sure it's all good.
Okay. will do. Thanks for all the help!

One thing that saves some time on the ISM is not removing rockers when replacing an injector. Bar engine to position one setting before where you would make adjustments/ for # 1 you would bar engine where you would set # 4 "C". You can loosen all three lash adjusters and remove pushrods and swing rockers back. Replace your injector. I have the OTC tool kit for the R&R. Slip pushrods back into place then bar engine to "A" then set valve and injector lash. This way you don't have to do the PITA procedure of setting rocker end clearance.

Thanks for the help. I did read in the manual about spraying the carb cleaner into the little weep hole in the injector. My engine started to idle rough and also accelerate slowly and vibrate until it goes over 1300 RPM, once it is above 1300 it smooths out.

I connected Insite and no fault codes but when running cylinder test #1 failed the test. Before pulling the injector I want to verify the valve/injector clearance.

Any idea what the diameter of the tool/hole that is used to pull the injector out? I would like to make a tool before removing the valve cover.

I can measure mine, but if putting in a reman just pop it out with heal bar. Install tool pushes around body of injector/not control valve. I set tool on top and push it in with palm of my hand after I center it.

Yup, lady slipper out. Liberal oil on the o-ring and push in like butter.

Okay. I wasn't sure what size pry bar will fit between the valves springs and head walls. I will take a look at it.

Injector part number from Quickserve is 4955149. The diesel shop has done every celect injector out there and NEVER saw this part number before. He said that unless this injector is the same as N14 engine he can't rebuild without having fuel flow info. He suggested that I send him a good injector so he can measure the flow and rebuild the bad one.

Does anyone here knows this part number and if it is the same as maybe other models of the celect injectors?

I made a tool and got the injector out. I heard some fuel leaking into the cylinder. Is there a way (or need) to get it out of there?

Blow it out with a long blow nozzle or vacuum out the liquid. Just make sure there is not any substantial fuel amount to hydrolock. A little will be Ok. It may fuel knock a bit but no permanent damage will happen.

I use a mityvac vacuum pump download (1).jpeg
Gets most of fuel out of cylinder.
