2009 volvo d 13 hard start cold

    all of a sudden engine cranks along time when cold before starting.after it starts once it will restart no problem,maybe glow plugs?

    I'm no expert on Volvo engines but the one unifying answer I read on this forum in regards to hard starting on Volvo engines is injector cups. Try the search feature on here. I'm sure you can find a lot of threads about your issue.

    Most class 8 diesel engines, if not all in the US and Canada do not have glow plugs.

    Yes there are no glow plugs on this engine.

    Northern mechanic is bang on the money, unfortunately the odds are your Injector cups are the problem. I had it happen on my d13, d12 and d16.
