Hey guys,
I am having intermittent issues starting my Cascadia. SYMPTOM: Intermittent start pushing in the clutch pedal, some days have to press harder. Have read in the forum of the clutch safety switch.
I have looked in the pedal area, but can not find the clutch safety switch. Can't find in the forum location, was wondering if anyone can help me out.
I went looking from the engine compartment and see 4-star screws that are holding a plate that holds the clutch reservoir and am wondering if I remove those bolts and pull out will I have access - can someone inform me if this is the route?
Before I go pulling the clutch pedal out through the engine compartment - are there certain issues I need to be aware of?
thanks,

You get to it from inside the cab. Not hard to change but small fingers help.
-
remove headlight switch and use long extension for easy replacement of clutch switch..
-
Thanks. If I ever wanted to eliminate that switch - can it be done?
-
I tried once and was not successful. that ####ty switch is connected/programed to CPC and SAMCAB..

Went to Freightliner and this is what they say I have to replace. this goes on the pedal itself - and what i am gathering is that i do have to remove the four torx screws that hold the clutch reservior to gain access to this part - unless you guys can steer me away from this. Again, 2010 Cascadia. thanks.

mhyn - how do I remove that switch? I tried to pull the knob off to see if there is access from there, but no joy, have tried to rotate the housing from my side, but that too doesn't work. Do I have to takle it from the back side?
thanks, -
I've never removed the headlight switch to do it. I remove the plastic cover that is around the steering wheel tilt pedal. Then use a long extension. There is only one torx that holds it in and then it kind of rotates up and out. 10 minute easy peasy.
tinytim Thanks this. -
thanks, but i am having a hell of a time finding the darn thing.
