2010 d 13 volvo engine - check fuel filter

    Just got this truck, dash light message say,s check fuel filter. ? Dose this mean the fuel filter is getting pluged. Any help would be nice, thanks guys

    Yes i think you need to change your filter. First off try to drain any water in the filter if the level is too high... Is your truck running sluggish? MPG worsen? Also i believe you have to have your truck off as you drain your filter so that motor doesnt suck any air in your fuel lines or you'll have a hell of a time to start it back up... Hope this helps you fix it

    really water in fuel sensor and pressure sensor are installed in fuel filter unit. sometimes fuel pressure pump is worn and you get the same message

    Thanks, Guys went out today started truck and the message was gone ???. i guess i,ll have to see if it comes on again. i,ll check filter for water any how to be safe.
