I agree with you on the hood clearance.. Although there is approx 2 inches to play with.. Point being more coolant... I have been lucky I guess with performance of the maxfart. Seriously considering an egr delete.. Have read all the pros and cons regarding it. Fact is, I'm the one who will have to pay the tow bill plus repair plus the rent to get the widgets delivered. LARGE shame on the ones who took peoples $$$ then left them stranded.. (International). What goes around comes around. You can bank on that.

Hello there I understand that all the prostars with the Maxxforce have emission problems... my question is are there any companies out there that have come out with a solution for the 2010-2012 egr emission for the trucks to be more reliable??? I've heard"M1M egr coolers" have a goods for the maxxforce! I hear everyone always saying to ask you "HeavyD" for advice! unfortunately I'm stuck with my truck! I've heard a lot of negatives on this engine I'm just curious to know if there's actually a fix for these bugs???

I am strictly a dealership level technician. We no do get into or support the use of aftermarket parts for stuff like that. We use only International parts for the engine. We do use aftermarket DOC and DPFs with great success.

are the new parts for the MF13 are they better now with all the new technology with emissions?? or there still bugs to be fix! overall I do like my truck... haven't had anything major I'm just curious if I ever start experiencing any problems. I'll know where to go to buy parts! thanks again and keep up the good work.. -
The latest generation with SCR is fairing a lot better so far. International has dropped the "Maxxforce" name. It is just a dark nightmare cloud in their history at this time. They are calling the 13 litre the "N13" now. Anyway, all the SCR stuff is made by Cummins. Those parts are working great. The only problem is the International wiring in between the parts. The SCR system reduces egr loads on the engine so the engine sees less EGR related problems. The EGR valve and EGR cooler on the latest N13 are also made by Cummins. So far so good!!! (knock on wood, LOL)
