2010 Peterbilt with Cummins isx cm 871 model worried about all the issues with DPF

I will be honest i bought a 2010 peterbilt they did not have the def fluid for that year and am worried because of all the issues i hear about that system. I did not do enough research when bought the truck now i am stuck with it.It is a cummins isx cm 871. I imagine if i goe and try to sell it i am going to loose alot of money. Well it is what it is at this point and have to deal with what ever issues that come up.
