2010 Wannabes: The year of Prosperity and Paranoia?

It is good to hear about more miles and better rates. Prosperity is always nice. It can also be concerning to look at the changes that are coming down. The way I see it though is simple. I am just starting in the industry so this is all I know. Sure I have heard from those that have been in the industry for a while abou how things are changing, but for me they aren't really changing. This is just the way the industry was/is when I got started.

As you talk to drivers and read this forum the drivers that even have just a few years experience can talk about all the changes they see. It seems that this industry and the way it operates is always changing. The way the industry is when you start is what is normal to you, then we see the changes that happen during our career.

The industry we see today is certainly not the one that drivers signed up for 20-30 years ago. However, many of them have adapted and continued to prosper in it even if they hate what it has become in some ways. Years from now we will be looking back at our "good old days" and worrying about the new regulations that are coming down.

I guess that was long winded way to say that change happens and we adapt or move on. For me this is just normal and the only thing that I know since I don't have experiences within the industry.
