2011 Volvo VNL 630 D13 Quiet Ticking that Come and Goes

    @superhauler That is certainly a possibly which I hadn't thought of. I'll look into that, thanks.

    @Working2party Just to clarify, the frequency of ticking may be changing with engine or road speed, I just couldn't definitely associate associated it with either and couldn't pin it to any one thing.
    It doesn't change intensity at all (it's the same noise level) every time.
    When it's ticking, it's a consistent repetitive ticking, not like a door creaking when being opened it closed. Do you still think it may be body related?
    The defroster was on which made the A/C button light up like I was using it for cool air., So that may be a possibility.


    Overall, the recommendations are everything but major engine malfunctions, which gives me some comfort that it's not about to fail big time.

    @Working2party (and for anyone else who may find this thread) You were right, the ticking was a loose piece of the aerodynamic fairing that was flapping in the wind.
