Its Monday! I guess that only matters if you work a desk job
If anyone else has any input on this thread, please let me know. Also, if you have experience with Freightliner day cabs, let me know. Those are the big need right now. Thank you -
Day cab doesn't necessarily mean less use, we run day cabs with 2 shifts so the trucks are running 23 hours a day, 5-7 days a week. We have all freightliners, 96 flds to 2011 Columbias.

I work for a frozen foods package company currently, We work 3 shifts 24/7 so if the docks working means the the two shag trucks are running. We used to have two freightliner day cabs. The company leases them by the mile for a year's time. They have been in shop more times than i can count using my hands and feet. Most of it was with the emission system. The other problem they had with the filth wheel not locking. One night the lowest mileage truck was turning a corner and lost his trailer by side the local cop shop and a major road in town. The major problem is they only run 8 miles to the drop lot and back 8 miles. then around the plant moving trailers from whorehouse to the plant. The new trucks that they are running today is your typical shag truck Ottawa tandem axle trucks. The post is not for the kind of information your looking for but just to show just because its a day cab does not always mean the truck is not running.

This has me wondering what sort of freight comes from houses of ill repute.

pretty sure they was 2013 models seeing when they first came to us still plastic on covers on seats. i work on the loading dock, so i don't get in the trucks myself but, being a shag truck they run 25% city till the stop light then its 45 mph speed limit then opposite going back from the lot. i have no idea on the needed mph for the engine to make enough heat to do the re gen. most days on the dock i work on loads 35 refer trailers then we have warehouse that unloads the dry good, rail dock they unload the try's for the lines and cardboard recyclable and pallet trailer for the used pallets off the lines. total of 100 trailers moved on a good day. Just make sure you have someone who know's how to work on the emission stuff. The local shop that my place of employment use is mostly older shade tree tech- background of farmers and old hot-rods. I have no idea how the warranty is set up with frieghtliner but since closest dealer is about 100 miles away they use the local shop for the small stuff. BTW the old 1984 Ottawa single axle is the back up for around the plant. That truck got used more in the first 6 months than the frieghtliners. The DOT was the reason they had to get the tandem axle trucks. I'm sure there is someone on here that is a city driver that can give you a better outlook on city work from the windshield experience just a outside look on it.
