2012 Cascadia DD error after treatment injection

    just received an error of eec 061 son 003556 after treatment injector 18 check engine and service lights both cams on but only the check is on now

    Anyone have any experience in what is may be? Def doser needs to be cleaned or replaced? Sensor issue? Truck was running fine and came on right after fueling up diesel and def... also curious how long I can run on it? Possible derate?

    Any info is appreciated

    could be doser block...200-300 miles and you will be in zone 3 (engine shut down) ..

    Have had no issues besides check and error, wondering if it's my outside temperature gauge tripping it, I replaced radiator 2 weeks ago and it hasn't been working correctly since... getting it into service tomorrow put 700 miles on it since error and nothing out of ordinary has happened

    Bad doser and cracked outside temperature guage arrived at 5am out by 1045am Columbus, OH freightliner... covered under warrenty thankfully

    Usually when inquiring about fault codes, it's easiest to follow SA/SPN/FMI (source address/ suspected parameter number/ failure mode indicator).

    There are several SPN 3556. Most of them relate to HC doser block. The doser block is located on the back passenger side of engine. I think there's like 3 connectors on it. Crucial to get this fixed in the event it's leaking or whichever so that you don't need to buy a whole new ATS.

    (I'm guessing from what you posted)
    61/3556/18--Aftertreatment 1 Hydrocarbon Doser Data Valid But Below Normal Operating Range - Moderately Severe Level

    @mhyn is correct that you need to get this taken care of, or it will eventually leave you stranded because of a derate. So good deal that you got it to OH FTL as soon as you did.

    Doser was on the drivers side close to firewall that was replaced.

    Right..the doser block is on the driver side...then the fuel line goes to the passenger side where the injector is located. :eek:

    Yeah they replaced the entire block, thankfully it was under warrenty saving me a 1000 min

    Warranty is always nice. I read the word cracked, and it made me think of exhaust for some reason. Lol.. :rolleyes:

    Oh that was outside temperature guage, they cracked it replacing radiator...
