I forgot about them seals that mhyn posted.

Freon contains oil. Oil contains the dye.

You don't want to replace components without the proper fill of oil. But as far as replacing seals. Freon contains oil so no need to constantly add everytime something is taken apart.

As long as the system is evacuated before charging, you should be good to go.

I agree though, might be a hairline crack with the tube.

If it still leaks. I'd check with a radiator shop to see if it can be repaired. Before going to a repair shop. They'll just want to replace that part which is 2 hoses. You might get lucky and it can be repaired.

    You might not. .

Look like your compressor is a Chinese 'clone', perhaps that's why it leaks and you deserve the troubles for buying a Chinese clone. Freon (refrigerant) DOES NOT CONTAIN oil, and oil DOES NOT automatically have dye in it even though some oil on the market has dye. When an a/c compressor is replaced the correct amount of compressor oil (and oil type) must be assured, this can be done 2 ways, drain the old compressor into a measuring cup and add the same amount of new oil to the new compressor or look up the chart for the compressor and add the correct amount WHICHEVER way is more. Some compressors ship dry from factory and the installer must add the correct amount and oil type during installation.

If you buy the OEM Denso compressor it would say 6oz of oil is already in it. I just replace the same compressor on my truck which lasted 600k miles, you would be lucky to get 50k miles out of your Chinese clone.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. My compressor clutch's magnetic coil failed at 600k the compressor itself is still good, bought a coil for $35 and replaced the failed coil and now I have a spare compressor on hand if the need ever arises. It's important to know how much one is paying but it's more important to know what one is paying for.

    mhyn Thanks this.

    134 contains green dyed oil.

With that bad of a leak. There's gotta be a SOMEWHERE. trace SOMEwhere.

Check the Schrader charging valves too.

I have a 2010 Cascadia with Detroit 60 series. I have a Freon leak somewhere and can’t seem to find it.
