Ive recently done an inframe after a long period of time of burning through coolant. Inframe was performed and after getting it back it performed well for a couple weeks until it started happening again and going through coolant especially when I'm loaded or pulling my trailer. The truck is ERG deleted, new injectors were installed and ECM was rebuilt during time of the inframe. After taking it back to where the work was performed, they pulled the head back off and saw that coolant was getting by again at the cylinders, they had the head measured and everything was checked and re-gasketed and put back together and I was told that the issue should be resolved. It has not been tuned since getting back the ECM so essentially, the motor is stock power with a deleted EGR. Since getting it back the second time, Im now going through coolant again. I do not have any external leaks. My mechanic is telling me that my motor has "too much power" from it being deleted which is why I'm still blowing through coolant. I have a hard time believing that because there are many trucks on the road with mx13's and deleted EGRs. Could my mechanic be right? Anything helps! Im at a loss!

Sounds like either an EGR leak in which case you should remove and inspect it. Or it COULD also be the air compressor as the gaskets/head on those can go bad on some engines dont know if that would leak coolant into the motor itself though. Never seen that particular problem.

I would do a pressure test on your coolant too. Could be something has built up or clogged in the system and is causeing high pressure to force out around the seals. Remimber a case where a rat got into a radator during a rebuild amd caused some pretty major issues at a company i used to work for. Though if you have really turned up the horsies on that motor it may be overpressureing the system as well.

Very likely cylinder liner height, or a cracked head, or both. Find Adept Ape on you tube and look for Purple Pete which is very recent. It is 4 parts but the part you need should be in part 1 or 2. The engine is a Cat but your engine also has wet liners. EGR reduces combustion temperatures which reduces NOx. So in some cases a delete may work but shorten engine life. Need to find a new mechanic. Drain your air tanks and make sure no coolant is coming out of there. You say EGR is deleted. Was the EGR cooler removed? If not the cooler can leak coolant into the intake.
