Do you have a RAYCO rear suspension? If so you can put together what they call "ping" tanks on that tractor, it basically increases the available space for your air to expand into when you air bags are contracting. This is something that you find on high end motor coaches.

I'm sure that this could be done with other S/A suspensions as well, I just have personal experience with RAYCO. My Pete 384 (190"WB) rode rougher than I wanted when I first picked it up, but I moved fuel tanks, put on a heavy 5th wheel and deck plate, added some extra tool boxes.

By the time I was done hooking up my trailer and road ready it rides pretty well, if anything I am looking into coming up with a control or limiting valve to install on my air cab bags to make them a bit softer.

i was wondering about the rail freight containers remark myself...i use my truck to run containers. all the companies and owner operators run air ride trucks pulling containers.

I noticed too that the rear tires are cupped unevenly like in staircase type...

its not that round and the ride is pretty harsh, could it be the rear shocks that are prematurely worned ? only at 8000 miles ?

they are not leaking and the bushings are good ...

what can cause uneven wear on the rear tires ... ?

have u thought about trying centrimatics? i have them on my truck and they seem to help some. im sure someone else may know better but ive heard that if the drives are cupping like u say its torque cupping...rotate the drives and make sure they get turned around so they are running the opposite direction.

How much weight do you typically have on your drive axle?

Belltransit, you do realise that when you use centrimatics you are taking away the symptoms but not curing the patient?:yes2557:

the maximum weight on the drive axle would be 12-13000 pounds on a 23000 suspension ...

and lots of times its a lot less then that ...

the treads of my rear tires are not the same wear its very uneven ...

    why is that ?

is it because of the harsh ride when i drive on croncrete roads ?
