2013 D13 spn 5394 fmi17 codes

Here is a fix I found for code 5394 17 right above the Def doser where they welded the flange mount it cracks at the weld and introduces air in the system and changs the chemical reaction the system uses for cleaning.Be careful when welding so you don't burn a hole in the pipe and use wire brush to clean surface thoroughly before you weld.After it is welded you then run the sublimation test and then run the dpf regeneration next this should clear the codes and fix your problems make sure you do 4 drive cycles to verify repair my name is David thx

Spn 5394 FMI 17 code just showed up on my truck. I have to make a 2000 mile trip. Is it safe to do so? Got the DPF cleaned about 30000 miles ago. Last week got a code and they said the def was frozen and the dosing valve pressure had to be adjusted.

 

Do you think it was the SCR? I’m having the same #### problems and I’ve already spent so much money

 

I think it will derate before the 2000 miles. I've heard some people disconnect the speed sensor on the transmission and shift using manual mode to bypass it, but I've heard the jakes won't work.

 

Please keep us updated on the OTR kit. I have been looking into it and am thinking about getting it.
