Check your intercooler and hoses. More than likely this is your problem. Hoses are easy to check/change, however if you do change them you should use new clamps. The intercooler (that radiator looking thing with two hoses coming off it, one on each side) will have to be taken to a shop to be checked.

    Sam718 Thanks this.

Thanks Heavyd! The CAC hose by the Turbo had a little hole in it so I got that replaced. The whistle sound was gone but this Morning when Started to smoke from the exhaust pipe underneath the Truck.
What could be the reason for that? The Mechanic said the whole exhaust pipe from the back of the engine to the back of the truck needs to be changed, but he didn’t open anything to check anything.
Could that be the oil leaking from the exhaust has kit?

    Heavyd Thanks this.

You were right. There was whole in that hose in the Turbo side. So I replaced it but this Morning it started to smoke from the exhaust pipe under the truck when I first started the Truck and then it went away after ten minutes. The Mechanic said that I need the Exhaust pipe from the back of the engine to the back of the Truck. That whole piece without looking at it. It smells like burning oil.

Smoke, depending on color can mean several different things.
    - WHITE SMOKE
Cold engine starting in extremely cold weather.
Injector failing intermittently, or a complete failure
    - BLUE SMOKE...
    Oil leaking into combustion chamber
Excessive soot / crap build up in head.
Older engines idling for heat/ac for 10+ hours often blow blue smoke for a mile or so before it cleares up. (always, especially caterpillars keep it in a reduced gear for a couple miles)
    Turbo failing or failure
    - BLACK SMOKE...
    unburt fuel going thru exhaust
    Extremely high output engine
    worn engine and or components
    Turbo failure warning / immenent.
Obviously this does not cover every possible scenario, but it should give you an idea of what may be causing it.

Exactly what color/colors of smoke is it, when does it happen, what type of weather is it in, how long does it continue for, what engine temp does it do it or stop doing it at?

Also, any mechanic that says you need an exhaust pipe from the engine back, or from anywhere because of an engine smoking, needs to squeeze his ### so his head pops out.

Hey Heavyd... I’m having the similar issue again. I was having a whistle sound for past 4-5 days but there was no drop in power or boost. The whistle sound got louder with foot on the accelerator and went away when I took the foot off the accelerator. This Morning I heard pop like how a belt breaks and a grind sound after that for 2-3 seconds and then it went away. The whistle sound stopped and the power of the truck dropped about 50% and I see a boost gauge only showing about 10% of Function. Can you please help with your input. It is always greatly appreciated. I’m on the Road right now. I hope your input can save me some money like always.

    Thanks

There’s a lot of oil before the Turbo.. Where the CAC pipe goes to the Turbo.

Just getting back from holidays. It sounds more like an air to air hose split or burst on you. Check all that. Your top picture is of the crankcase oil separator. It is just slobbering from somewhere there and making a bit of mess. This really won't cause loss of boost or power.

Welcome back Heavyd.. did you have a good time? The Mechanic first said that it was the CAC leaking and that was changed today but the truck still have 50% less power. The boost is about 5%. Now they think it’s the high pressure turbo and the actuator, but they checked the turbos on the First day and said that the Turbos were good, but now they think it’s the actuator and the high pressure Turbo. I have noticed the actuator waste gate behind the Turbos isn’t extended on key off or on. Which you mentioned in one of the posts that it suppose to stretch about 12mm. Could this be the bad Waste gate Actuator or the High pressure Turbo? OR do you think it’s both?
