    Hi.

The part for the fuel pressure I found a guy in Michigan here is his site.

Used Hydraulic Head International MaxxForce 11/13/15 Injection Pump

For the Egr Valve I had to buy the whole unit. I was saying before the dealer should sell the individual parts because they bad so often.

I can't speak for other dealers, but most aren't interested in selling used parts due to liability and no warranty. We want the best reliability for our customers and installing used parts just isn't a smart way to get you on the road because it's just a gamble that can ruin reputations. I understand your position with wanting the cheapest repair possible. You just have to find shops that are willing to do that level of repair and stick with them.

    Hi Heavyd

I didn't say that the dealers should sell used parts what was saying they should be able to sell parts of a part. I had a problem with my pump it was leaking where the line connects to the pump. As soon as you open the line you can see that there is a crack on this plunger that is connected to the pump by two bolts. Now the dealer says they dont sell that one part that is very easy to open and replace but they sell the whole pump. So I had two choices here buy the new pump and take the plunger from it and put on the truck or look for a used one because they dont sell that part new.

I know Heavyd that you are very experienced with these engines and know a lot about them. I have heard that 95% of the time when you have a leak where the fuel connects to the pump the plunger is cracked. I maybe wrong here but I heard that and it did as well happen to my truck. Now why the dealer dont only sell only the plunger maybe because the manufacturer doesn't provide that. Why they dont provide that to the dealer so they can sell it because they can make a lot more money selling a whole new pump then plunger. Thats how you lose customers and It may also be that dealer dont make a lot of money selling new vehicles but majority of their income comes from service.

Now Heavyd I can tell you that I appreciate your knowledgeable input on this forum a lot and it keeps a lot of the people to stay a float and continue the route to finish delivery and bring the food on the table. Thanks

Believe me, I wish we could change just that one part, but the pump doesn't break down into individual parts like that. It's totally unserviceable unfortunately. I agree, Navistar missed the boat on those.
