Hey guys so I've finally found another truck. A company in St Agatha, ON has about 4 or 5 trucks that they have purchased from Laidlaw and have added them to their used truck inventory.
I am looking to buy the
2013 Peterbilt 386 845k km
Paccar MX 455/18spd heavy spec.
Chrome bumper, rear chrome fenders, very very clean.
I took it for a spin and it was great and better than all the trucks I had tested.
I have service records from Cervus Peterbilt that indicate dpf/doc filters were replaced, all injectors have been replaced, fan blade, tensioner, belt and top end set..... and a bunch of other things like maintenance..
Would you guys consider a truck that was once a part of the Laidlaw fleet?

They're the worst motors ever manufactured?

I have driven a few Paccars(500) and would take one any day of the week over the newer ISX Cummins.

I've never bought one of their trucks but I've worked for and around them for years. They always seem well spec'd for the job they are set up for and well maintained as far as l can tell. Are you using it for the same kind of work? The one thing they will do is get rid of a problem truck before warranty is up. They'll fix it right but if they see a pattern right from day one they're not afraid to trade it in early or keep it longer if its exceptionally trouble free. 2013 would be on their normal trade cycle l think. I wouldnt be afraid to approach one of the yards directly about buying from them. All they can say is no and l don't think they have a contract to sell to anyone in particular.

The oil sample came in from Kenworth in Cambridge,ON very clean!
Few issues that they came across like the DEF injector and doser valve that they notified me about and are replacing now.
Should I purchase the 1 year warranty with 201k km? $2300 ??
The truck feels very healthy but just for the peace of mind. -
That all depends on what the warranty will cover.
Turbo, Manifold, injectors? So on and so on.. yep, it would be worth it.daf105paccar Thanks this.
