How are the NEW 2014 ISX 15 motors doing today. Up until 2011 pretty much all motors were crap in one way or another.

So far so good on mine. ISX15 550/2050. Initially a little disappointed w/ fuel mileage and oil consumption. Currently have a little over 80,000 miles on it and mileage has improved and oil consumption has stopped. Not one parked regen as yet, and DPF restriction gauge hasn't come off zero. Not the most powerful thing I've ever driven, but runs OK.

Good to hear Pupeperson, hope it stays that way for many miles to come.

What are you pulling? Would you configure anything differently if you had it to do again?

Reefer. Probably would have gotten the Ultra+ 13 instead of the Ultra+18. Low rpm progressive shift program supposedly not available on the 18 and I end up shifting it manually anyway. It wants to rev too high in the lower gears. I also have a 2 speed Horton fan, and I don't know if I'd spec that again or not. Otherwise, I think I'm pretty satisfied w/ the 579.

What was your MPG when you first got it and what has it improved to so far? Does the 550/2050 climb hills like crazy?

At first it was 6.3 or so and after a few thousand miles it started climbing. Now it's typically 7 plus with winter fuel as long as there's no heavy wind and you keep it at 65 or so. It pulls ok I guess, but I'm used to a higher powered truck so can't really say it pulls great. It does better than most, I'd say.

    gokiddogo Thanks this.
