I'm rolling up on 800K and haven't had any issues with the engine or drivetrain . Had to change all of the air valves on the truck, a couple of brake jobs, tires, but that's it. There are(or there seems) a lot of people bad rapping PACCAR engines and talking about DD's, ISX-15's and Cats being the greatest thing sense sliced bread. How can that be ? My old truck had an NTC 400 that ran forever, but CARB put a stop to that. Now it's still in use in Guatemala and they love it down there. Since getting the Pete I've been to all the states except Hawaii and Alaska twice. Seen a lot of trucks alongside the road with their hoods open (get a sick feeling) (glad it's not me) most of them have red engines, yet people tell me PACCAR engines are junk, throwaway motors and other very negative things. I guess my question is, Is it an EPA number thing with PACCAR engines? Or what ?
