Just got word from my fleet manager, company I will return to work to. I have been away from this company for almost two years. At the end of the month I will be assigned a 2015 Freightliner Cascadia Evolution, auto transmission.
I saw some images online, looked at a YouTube video walk through of the truck. Any tips, tricks or quirks I should know about this truck?
Thanks in advance!

The good: fuel mileage is 7.3-8.0, motor is strong when it’s running right, fairly quiet interior, good turning radius, rides well. Headlights are very bright.
The bad: mine leaked in the center of the windshield driver’s side, oil pan leaks at the drain bolt, mirror covers on hood rattle, hood is a pain to open sometimes, ergonomically not a well designed truck with cup holders blocking switches, air vents blocked by steering wheel.
Overall, if it’s a fleet spec truck, it’s on par with what you expect nowadays. Lots of plastic, rattles, emissions issues here and there, but it has not left me stranded so far.Redtwin and passport220 Thank this. -
^Awesome. Thank you for taking the time to pass on the info!

I rent a couple of them in the summer and I like the Cascadias. I'm probably in the minority.
We only run day cabs and the cab room is worlds better than on our Kenworths and Petes. -

Otherwise, I have had one since 2014 & overall, its been a good truck. I've had minor issues so far with 230,000 miles (I'm a local & short regional driver). I actually told my manager just last week that instead of buying me a new truck in 2020 (7 years), if this one is still this dependable, just renew the lease on this one. She wants a new one tho. In 2020, I'll only have about 400,000 on this truck.
